**Biostatistician**

**Rare Anemias Disorders Research Line**

The University Hospital Vall d'Hebron is highly specialized in rare diseases on a Regional, national and international level

with its incorporation as full member of 20 of the 24 European Reference Networks (ERN).

**Diseases **(RHD), is led by Dr Mañú Pereira, head of the Rare Anemia Disorders research lab within the “CANCER Y

ENFERMEDADES HEMATOLOGICAS INFANTILES” group.

Our research strategy is focused on the development and validation of innovative methodological approaches for better

characterization of patients affected by rare anemia disorders according to their individual features to allow personal risk

profiles and personalized medicine.

Within the ERN-EuroBloodNet and in line with the strategy at European level, the team is leading several projects on
European patients’ registries for rare haematological diseases, aiming at avoiding fragmentation of data by promoting the
standards for patient registries’ interoperability.

In this context, we are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven and committed Biostatistician who will support the delivery

of our projects and:

- Give support in statistic tasks and data base management
- Prepare periodic statistical reports
- Coordinate IT tasks

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics or Computer Science or Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a Master’s Degree in
Statistics or Bioinformatics
- Experience with data collection software (experience with REDCap will be a real plus)** -**

Knowledge of programming language (everyday use): R or Python** -**

Fluency in English (We are working at European level and have frequent meetings in English)***

**Desired: -**

Knowledge or training in IT (servers, data hosting, etc.) to be able to communicate and/or coordinate the
technical aspects of the actions between institutions and departments.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

At least 2 years of experience in database management (creation of dictionaries and import files), elaboration of
statistical reports and analysis protocols.
