**Your role**
FunPlus is looking for a **Technical Director** to help build a next generation casual mobile studio. The Technical Director will play a fundamental role in leading FunPlus’ efforts in the category. FunPlus is committed to creating world class mobile casual games that match (or exceed) the quality of the games we have already created and which are in line with where the market is going.
We are looking for a natural leader who enables and inspires the team, someone who has a proven track record in the industry but is still very hands-on in the game making process.
The Technical Director will work across existing game concepts currently in development but primarily will lead efforts on the creation of potential blockbuster new games and franchises. The Technical Director will participate in all phases of the lifecycle of new game production and translate the business vision into product features and functionality while working closely with other leaders in the organization. You will implement methodologies and create workflows for efficient development of scalable high quality games.
**Your responsibilities**
- Work closely with team and studio leadership and be on top of the strategic goals.
- Provide technical leadership and help develop your teams’ technical skills.
- Recruit and develop your team of developers.
- Collaborate in the design of key features and define budgets for technical feasibility.
- Assume overall accountability for a successful implementation phase on all feature releases and builds.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
- Review and discuss production priorities, timelines, and scope with the game leaders.
- Have a startup mentality and want to help garner that type of environment.
- Define and guide overall technical direction and foster an environment of trust and learning.
**Your profile**
- A solid understanding of the current gaming market and free to play monetization.
- Very sharp observation about player insights and needs especially in the mobile free to play casual market.
- Extensive experience with C# and Unity in large code bases.
- Previous mobile experience with an excellent understanding of mobile / free to play games development in the casual genre.
- Passionate about building new and innovative games from scratch.
- Able to lead, motivate and evangelize a team in scrum and agile methodology with a high-performance execution focus.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and jumping into something new from time to time.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, Mandarin is a plus.
- Excellent problem solver, strong leader and team player. Solution driven.
- Deep understanding and experience in different areas (gameplay, optimization, bundling/asset management, tools, pipelines, data mining, etc.)
