**About the role**

The vacancy is for a junior business development consultant position in the Ecorys offices in Madrid, Spain.

In this position, you will work intensively and in coordination with colleagues from other Ecorys offices in the international area (IDU - International Development Unit), mainly from the London, Rotterdam and Brussels offices in the development of Ecorys proposals and bids responding to international tenders (Europe Aid, DG NEAR, IADB or World Bank).In the case of this position in Madrid, the focus will be on business opportunities arising in the LATAM region. The selected person will also be integrated in teams for the implementation of existing projects in the region (and elsewhere).

Finally, following Ecorys' award of SEA 23’s several lots, the consultant will also provide services in responding to business opportunities arising in this area.

**What you will be doing**
- Identification of business opportunities and analysis of the market.
- Preparation of Expressions of Interest.
- Interaction with potential partners and formation of consortia.
- Management of proposal preparation processes once the Short List is accessed, including the search for senior and junior experts as required.
- Support in the implementation of the project once it has been awarded.

In parallel, the selected person will be integrated in teams already formed to support the implementation of existing contracts with both Spanish and EU level clients (in particular the European Commission).

**What we will need from you**
- High degree of motivation and team spirit in an international work context.
- Academic background relevant to the position sought, Master's level training in public policy, international relations or development cooperation would be an asset
- 2 years of experience in a similar position and knowledge of EU procedures for international tenders (Europe Aid).
- A very high level of Spanish and English is essential. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
- Joining a prestigious international consulting firm with more than 600 employees, 97 million in turnover last year, and offices in 14 different countries.
- Hybrid work scheme (face-to-face 60% - remote 40%).
- Permanent contract after a probationary period of six months.
- Remuneration in line with the market, with social benefits from the second year in the company and with an individual professional progress plan that also includes a variable remuneration based on the achievement of objectives.
