ABOUT THE ROLE

IMPORTANCE OF THE ROLE
As a part of the Platform team, you will be the bridge between product engineering and infrastructure. Designing and reviewing architecture decisions, automating operations, and ensuring smooth delivery, with keen focus on reliability, security and compliance. This role is crucial in order to enable developers to function in a deterministic manner and deliver best quality products.

WHAT IS THE EXCITING CHALLENGE YOU WILL FACE?
We are scaling up the engineering department, and the platform team is very important for our successful growth. This role involves owning the responsibility of creating, building and ensuring the smooth operation of our infrastructure along with hands-on coding and architecture skills.

We expect that you will be a person to share responsibility for driving such initiatives:

- Managing and improving sennder’s highly demanding platform with state-of-the-art technologies such as containers, serverless computing, kafka, Postgres, message and event queues, AWS, and much more.
- Co-designing cloud infrastructure with a product-driven approach and implementing infrastructure as code. We are lazy and we believe in DRY
- Crafting operational aspects of continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous compliance, failure and security attack mitigations and performing root cause analyses.
- Building internal tooling for the team as well as engineering at large to provide uniform and coherent experience across the organization.
- Designing engineering operations for smooth functioning of delivery, processes for service disruptions, and mitigation processes during cyber-attacks.
- Extending observability with a focus on business enablement.
- Mentoring and training junior engineers on cloud technologies.

- Confident presentation and strong influence skills with adaptability based on the audience.
- In depth experience with AWS and cloud native architecture.
- Working with Linux and knowledge of scripting languages like BASH, Python
- Assertive communication skills for an effective collaboration between engineering, product, and operations.
- Continous learning and being particularly passionate about technology.
- Experience in configuring and running production grade services in AWS.
- Constant drive for improving processes and thinking in long-term wins.
- Fluency in English (in both written and verbal communication)
