**Job description**:
Aardvark Swift are supporting Smilegate, who are seeking a Tools Programmer to join a team of highly skilled coders.

In this role, you will work alongside the engine programmers to create tools and pipelines needed by the team, whilst fostering a culture that balances productivity, innovation, learning, and healthy communication.

**Your responsibilities**
- Develop, maintain, optimise and improve their Unreal Engine build and distribution pipelines
- Identify and fix issues or problems that affect the development workflow
- Coordinate with engine and gameplay programmers to provide solutions that balance rapid iteration with stability
- Provide daily support to the team and participate in code reviews
- Write clear and maintainable code

**The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role**
- Innovative thinker with creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and iterative environment
- Strong understanding of development processes, workflows, and tools
- User experience working knowledge is a plus
- Previous experience writing tools inside a AAA studio is a bonus
