What we are looking for

SATLANTIS is looking for **Thermo-Mechanical Engineer** profiles for 1) the thermal analysis of Earth Observation optical payloads, alone and integrated in satellites; 2) the definition of thermal requirements and interfaces for those payloads; 3) providing support to Systems Engineering and Project Management.

A detailed list of the tasks to be performed is provided below. It is not expected that all the tasks listed here are completed by a single person, but in cooperation with the rest of the team, where responsibilities are assigned based on individual expertise and capabilities.
- **PROFILE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Payload concept and architecture definition
- Evaluation of alternatives for each of the payload concepts
- Thermal design and analysis of payloads, with ESATAN/ESARAD tool
- **COLLABORATION WITHIN THE MECHANICS AREA**:

- AIV: Assembly, integration, test and requirements verification
- Support to verification of Compliance Matrix
- Test procedures and test reports preparation
- Perform thermal tests in internal and external facilities
- **COLLABORATION WITH OTHER AREAS**:

- Support to Project Management
- Project requirements analysis
- Payload interfaces definition
- Project documentation at different stages of the project: PDR, CDR, etc
- Communication with the rest of teams (Optics, Electronics, SW, etc)
- Requirements derivation to subcontractors and providers

Skills and experience
- Use of thermal analysis tools. Preferably ESATAN/ESARAD.
- A deep passion for technology, optomechanical and thermal design, and space missions.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Complementarily, degrees in Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience would be an asset.
- Problem-solving approach
- Team spirit, versatility, and creativity
- English negotiation level

Preferred
- Experience designing/analysing/implementing space projects for ESA, EC, NASA or prime contractors
- Experience using CAD software. SolidWorks preferred
- Experience with PDM tools
- Experience in thermomechanical distortion analyses
- Knowledge/Experience in spacecrafts, optical benches, mechanisms or space structures design
- Knowledge/Experience with verification/tests: thermal vacuum tests, vibration/shock tests, etc
- Knowledge/Experience in Optics or Optomechanics
- Spanish negotiation level
