About you and this role

The Geographic Communications Manager for Spain, Portugal & Italy is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining multi-channel internal and external communications plans that protect, build and drive Dow’s reputation and brand with key stakeholder groups in both countries, and providing ad-hoc support for Portugal. This includes partnering with the Spain and Italy functional teams and those supporting the individual Dow businesses and engaging with local Dow leadership to reinforce and advance the Company’s strategy. They support a variety of internal and/or external work streams focused on engaging and motivating employees, deepening customer relationships, interacting with media, and enhancing Dow’s brand value and reputation in the region. This role is based in Tarragona, Spain.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develops and supports regional communications for targeted internal and external stakeholders, including
- Tarragona site leadership
- Spain, Italy, and Portugal country leadership
- Supports internal and external events and communications throughout both regions including:

- Media relations
- Relationships with chemical associations
- Community Advisory Panel in Tarragona
- Leads crisis communication processes supporting local manufacturing sites
- Supports internal approval processes with relevant departments, and external stakeholders, e.g. press releases, reports, etc.
- Monitors media, NGOs, academic, and science organizations for activity
- Manages Dow digital presence including web and social media channels, sourcing content from businesses and functions
- Maintains brand standards, providing direction to ensure consistency throughout all communication channels
- Works with Dow’s European Donation Team concerning donations for Spain, Portugal, and Italy

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's/ Master's Degree with 5 years of related professional experience in Journalism, Public Affairs, Corporate Communications or Marketing Communications.
- Strong written communication and speaking skills; fluent in Spanish and English. Italian is desirable.
- Leadership presence - ability to collaborate with wide variety of colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects under time constraints; experience in issues management and crisis communications is desirable.
- Ability to be available on short notice to meet needs that may arise outside of normal business hours for crisis communications support.

- Relocation is not supported for this role.
