- Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, managed investments, portfolios, and markets. The group also collects and maintains high-quality data on the equities, managed investments, and fixed-income investments we cover in our database, one of the largest investment databases in the world. Morningstar is one of the largest independent sources of manager, equity, and credit research in the world. We transform data into insights that investors can use to reach their financial goals.
- The Role:
This role is an ideal position for someone looking to drive operational excellence and enable the next generation of portfolio analytics at Morningstar. The EMEA Managed Investment Data Operations team is seeking a Data Content Researcher to manage a variety of initiatives related to Operations data for Managed Investments domiciled across the EMEA Region. You will collaborate closely with the global content and operations teams, using your finance and business acumen to ensure the seamless execution of new initiatives. You will leverage your knowledge of relationship management and continuous improvement to design processes for client support and operations teams. This position will be located in Madrid.
- Responsibilities:
- Escalation point for internal and external customer queries.-
- Act as an expert regarding investment data points and processes.-
- Monitor daily workload to identify market movements and anticipate potential large workloads and language needs.-
- Partner with Operations analysts and team leaders to build and coordinate a smart and agile training process which permits an efficient go to work.-
- Demonstrate a high sense of ownership of the data responsibilities to be responsive and provide timely updates, follow-up, expedition, and resolution-
- Using Lean Six Sigma methodology to proactively identify process improvements.-
- Provide proper proposal for data quality control backend logic to drive data accuracy improvement.-
- Translate system improvement requirement of cross portfolio team into usable technology language through detailed written specifications.-
- Maintain database backend knowledge and build readable documentation.- Requirements:
- At least 3-years professional experience working in investment data industry with wide and deep database knowledge.-
- A bachelor’s degree in economics or business with an exceptional academic record.-
- Be familiar with at least one of Python, R, SQL.-
- Strong quantitative and business analysis skills-
- Excellent English plus either Danish or Swedish or Norwegian verbal/presentation/written communication skills-
- Highly interest in Financial Markets data-
- Profound understanding of Managed Investments data, system, process and backend logic-
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
