We at PRONOVIAS GROUP, Global leader in the Bridal industry with headquarters in Barcelona, are looking for a passionate, engaging,** delivery-focussed commercial lawyer to join us on a 6 month fixed-term basis to provide maternity leave cover **as commercial lawyer, joining Pronovias Group inhouse legal team. The team is based in Barcelona and provides service to all jurisdictions and regional hubs, working closing with key business decision-makers. The legal team plays a pivotal and highly-visible role in empowering and supporting Pronovias Group to deliver success.
We are looking for a lawyer with approximately 5 years PQE in managing commercial contracts (agency, distribution, franchise,) as well as marketing contracts and management of intellectual property portfolio, with great drafting and communication skills and ability to solve practical problems, unlock opportunities and to build and maintain strong relationships with a number of key stakeholders on the operational sides of the business.
Key tasks will be:
- Develop and maintain close working relationships across the business and take time to understand Pronovias Group’s strategy and commercial goals.
- Advise on the negotiation and commercial implementation of a varied range of commercial contracts covering every aspect of the global operations from wholesale, licensing, franchise, marketing and digital marketing.
- Provide highly commercial and practical advice on the laws and regulations, such as product and marketing compliance, as well as data privacy regulations (albeit support of an external DPO).
- Manage the trademark and intellectual property portfolio of Pronovias Group, liaising with external trademark counsels.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement in the wider legal team including the use of technology and other solutions to drive process improvements and manage risk.
- Think laterally and drive practical and innovative commercial solutions to problems.
- Manage the effective instruction of external counsel and other service providers, including litigation proceedings if required.
- A counsel qualified to practice in a European country.
- Commercially-minded, with an understanding of business operations, commerce and finance.
- Technically capable with deep knowledge of the laws, regulations and processes which govern the key operative aspects of retail and consumer-led businesses.
- Experience in working in an in-house environment is desired.
- A strong communicator able to present confidently to senior level decision makers.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- A highly organised, meticulous, diligent person with attention to detail.
- A team player able to work effectively and collaboratively with the whole team.
- Not afraid to take decisions and are solutions driven - you get things done.
- Professional knowledge of Spanish and English, any additional European language will be considered.
