**Descripción**:
The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five main areas, 1) Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; 2) Environment and health over the Lifecourse; 3) Global Viral and Bacterial infections; 4) Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases; and 5) Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:
ISGlobal is seeking a full-time LAB TECHNICIAN who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project “Impacte de la transmissió de bacteris Resistents als AntiMicrobians a la població de BarceLonA a través de parcs infantils (RAMBLA)”.

The overall project goal is to develop the main research line of the project, more specifically the ones related to the technical and logístical aspects of the project.

The activities in which the LAB TECHNICIAN will be involved related to the Project will be:

- Ensure the correct involvement of all the stakeholders of the project.
- Characterisation of the bacterial samples isolated from environmental and faecal samples.
- Assessment of the epidemiological relationship of the bacterial isolates from environmental and faecal samples.
- Support on conducting the citizen-oriented strategies to be developed in the project.

The tasks will be developed in the research laboratory of the Antimicrobial Resistance group at Centre Esther Koplowitz (CEK).

**KEY RESPONSABILITIES**:
**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Previous laboratory experience in the microbiology field (2 years), particularly in antimicrobial resistance.
- Training in Molecular Biology.
- Recommended to have a Bachelor’s degree and Master in Microbiology.

**SKILLS**:

- Outstanding organizational and good teamworking skills.
- Responsible, flexible and with problem solving skills.
- Eager to learn, proactive and with great initiative
- Demonstrable adaptability and flexibility to adapt positively to change
- Previous experience in molecular microbiology

**CONDITIONS**:

- Duration: Temporary, from 1st January 2025 - 15th September 2025
- Starting date: 1st January 2025
- Contract: full time
- Salary Range: according to internal scales (Technician II B)

**SELECTION PROCESS**:
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
