**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Graduated in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Biomedicine, with academic score of 8.00 or above.
- Master degree in the biomedical field.
- Official capacitation for work with experimental animals.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

Three or more years of experience of laboratory work in the field of biomedicine.
- Experience in care and management of experimental mice, including collection of blood and tissues samples.
- Experience in assessment of mitochondrial function.
- Experience with HPLC. Experience with spectrophotometric assays.
- Experience in work with radiochemicals.

**Main responsibilities and duties**:
- Research tasks related with the project: “Generation and characterization of a murine model with mutations in _Gfm1_”,

including, but not limited, to the following:

- Care and management of the colony of Gfm1 genetically modified mice.
- Biochemical and molecular characterization of the mice, including mitochondrial function.
- Mitochondrial translation assays with radiochemicals.
- Design and testing of therapy approaches for the model.
- Writing of manuscripts and presentation of the results at local and international meetings.
- Contributing to the general shared tasks of the laboratory.

**Labour conditions**:
- One-year position starting January 1st 2021.
- Full time position
- Gross annual salary of 22.823,22 €
