About you and this role

We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student, to support our Digital Operations Center by doing an internship project in Evaluation of various process historian against the current preferred solution.

for our location in Barcelona/ Spain.

The department that will welcome you is a critical component in enabling Dow's Digital Strategy. The center you will be aligned to, includes a blend of resources from Operations, Manufacturing & Engineering, IT and collaborates closely with other key functions across Dow. The extended team includes personnel with expertise in analytics, process automation, sensors, robotics, and mobility to digitalize Dow’s operations. This multidisciplinary team coordinates with the other Digital Operations Centers across the world to facilitate rapid prototyping of new capabilities to enhance the competitive position of Dow's manufacturing and site facilities.

Project description

There is a preferred process historian solution currently used, but with the need for more third-party data exchange and other requirements there is an evaluation of available solutions against the current preferred solution needed to gain a good understanding of this solutions and the associated tools.

This understanding of the technology evaluate will help to identify possible implementations to address certain technology gaps.

**Responsibilities**:

- Research, evaluate and report on emerging technology for process historians.
- Identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged.
- Seek out innovation ideas using your deep understanding of current technology trends.
- Translate the requirements of manufacturing into functional requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- You are currently studying for a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer science or Chemical engineering.
- You have a good working knowledge of English. Spanish would be a plus.
- You have an active interest in digitalization technologies and the future of how we will work in industry utilizing these.
- You can start between February and April in 2024 for a period of 6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
