Senior Electrical Engineer

What to Expect
- *This role can be based out of our Madrid or Amsterdam office*
- We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our dynamic Powerwall Engineering team. As an Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the sales, deployment, and development of Tesla's residential energy products, with a focus on Powerwall and associated services in the EMEA region. This exciting position involves close collaboration with our sales and service teams, acting as a vital link between the EMEA region and our US engineering counterparts.

What You’ll Do
- Lead Product and Market Development: Take charge of identifying technical and regulatory requirements for both existing and new markets. You will be instrumental in shaping the direction of our products, ensuring they meet the specific needs of diverse markets within the EMEA region
- Conduct Testing and Develop Technical Content: Oversee testing procedures for new products and markets. In addition, create comprehensive technical content and training materials to support successful product adoption and integration
- Enhance Customer and Installer Experience: Gather valuable market feedback to continually improve the overall customer and installer experience, enhancing the quality and efficiency of our residential energy solutions
- Lead large scale projects such as Virtual Power Plants or commercial fleets where our residential energy products are deployed in large numbers: This includes providing pre-sales engineering support to scope the project, specifying and reviewing electrical and control system designs and identifying any new software or firmware work required to make the project a success.
- Assist with Troubleshooting and Escalations: Work closely with technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve any customer escalations, providing prompt and effective solutions

What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with the design, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems
- Background in electrical engineering with extensive knowledge in control systems, data communication systems, local electrical codes, and grid-connection regulations
- Experience with coding and data analytics in Python is considered a nice-to-have
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Able to build strong relationships with internal and external customers
- Detail-oriented, self-sufficient, resourceful, and able to manage shifting priorities
- Knowledge of health and safety management would be highly beneficial
- Flexible towards regular business travel
