Lonza is hiring a Construction Engineer as part of this Department in Engineering Capex Projects. Construction Engineer is needed to support CAPEX program and reach company objectives and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

- Manage and define the construction design documents and deliverables “as built” as required, ensuring functionalities are met according to projects specifications. Integrate aspects of constructability (consider the restrictions of executing with a plant in operation), operability, maintainability and safety, in close collaboration with different Technical Teams.
- Preparation and/or review pipe and isometrics, Mechanical specifications, E&I specifications, Civil specifications (among others) in collaboration with Technical Team and Contractors.
- Define the project execution strategy and timings, according to Project Capex Plan and site activities.
- Define and manage the regular construction reports (as schedule, cost control etc) and forward to the Project Management.
- Define, monitor and readily adjust the staffing of the Construction Contractors in collaboration with the Project Team as necessary.
- Initiate and manage construction site meetings, brief contractors on construction site conditions and the respective training to execute the construction works.
- Participate in regular site inspections regarding EHS, progress and schedule aspects and participation in other inspections if necessary.
- Coordinate Contractors, supervise construction works and mitigate the potential risks during the construction phases.
- Technical revision of equipment and materials of projects when necessary.

Key requirements:

- MSc in Chemical, Industrial or similar Engineering or BSc Chemical, Industrial or similar Engineering.
- Spanish native speaker and English business fluent (min B2)
- At least 5-year experience in similar position in Pharma & Biotech or related industry, and demonstrable expertise.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of main international design standards (ASME, UNE-EN-ISO ) and Spanish industrial safety and civil regulations.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical sanitary design and regulations such as FDA, cGMP, ASME-BPE.
- Knowledge AutoCAD 3D or similar.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Positive, proactive, diligent, engaged and accessible/open to dialogue person.
