- Job Description- The **Early Years Assistant**supports the Early Years Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role is pivotal in promoting effective teaching and learning, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met, and fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.**RESPONSABILITIES**
- 1. Classroom Support:
- Assist the Early Years Teacher in daily lessons and activities.
- Deliver sequences of lessons planned by the teacher during short periods of teacher absence.
- Create and maintain a stimulating classroom environment where resources are accessible to all children.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, playtimes, and meals.
- 2. Child Development:
- Support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Observe and record children's progress, reporting any concerns to the Early Years Teacher.
- Promote the social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
- Assist in planning and executing age-appropriate learning activities.
- 3. Health and Safety:
- Ensure the health and safety of all children at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.
- Follow school policies and procedures for safeguarding and child protection.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure a safe environment.
- 4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with the Early Years Teacher and other staff members.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions regarding curriculum, administration, and organization.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and well-being.
- Assist in organizing and participating in school events, trips, and activities.
- 5. Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to keep up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
- Participate in performance management and appraisal processes.
- Attend relevant training sessions and workshops as required.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Support the life of the school beyond the classroom by contributing positively to the school’s community spirit.
- Operate within the school’s policies and practices at all times.
- Assist in the management and ordering of classroom supplies and resources.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the school leadership team.
