Principal Rf/ms Ic Design Engineer

**Responsibilities**:
Join MaxLinear and you will work closely with a world-class team of IC designers to design high-performance ICs with RF, analog, mixed-signal and digital systems integrated on a single chip. In the Principal role, you will:

- Define architectures based on high-level specifications
- Lead design, implementation, and verification of RF and mixed-signal circuits on an SOC
- Collaborate with system and product design teams to optimize circuits and system specification trade-offs
- Work closely with various cross functional teams to arrive at best possible solution
- Characterize and debug relevant blocks and systems
- Analyze the effects of non-idealities on circuit performance
- Report the results of IC design, analysis and evaluation

Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of RF/Mixed-signal circuits, with ability to drive architecture and topology choices
- In-depth understanding of Mixed-signal circuit blocks such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs
- Strong knowledge of circuit blocks such as RF blocks like LNAs, Mixers and VCOs
- Ability to drive chip level specifications for matching, signal path, spurious analysis, frequency planning
- You must have familiarity with wireless or wireline communication specifications and derivation of block-level requirements from these high-level specifications
- Solid understanding of CMOS process and device physics
- Working knowledge of RF/analog layout techniques. Familiarity to FINFET layout is a plus
- Hands-on experience testing your own designs in the lab and define production test requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- BS in Electrical Engineering + 10 years of experience, MSEE + 8 years of experience or Ph.D. + 4 years of experience
