**AstraZeneca Global Hub **is an innovation-driven global biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines, primarily for the treatment of cardiovascular, renal and metabolic, respiratory and immunological, oncological and rare diseases.
In line with our firm commitment to training and developing exceptional talent, this person will join our **Epidemiology & Real-World Science (EpiRWS) department** to learn and grow through active collaboration with our team.
**Conditions**:
**Duration**:1 year

**Training through practical experience**:
As an Epidemiology intern within the Global Epidemiology and Real World Science (EpiRWS) department you will be an integrated member of the Epidemiology Forecasting team at Alexion-Astrazeneca Rare Disease Unit.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Learn how epidemiology can help deepen our understanding of diseases and inform decision-making within drug development & commercialization.
- Build on your research skills through hands-on experience with Epi Forecasting team research, from project conceptualization to delivery.
During your internship, you will:
- Assist in the collation, analysis, interpretation and delivery of evidence to characterize the epidemiology of one or more rare diseases (using literature and/or real-world data sources)
- Support functional excellence activities designed to help improve ways of working, for example: landscape assessment to appraise how existing real-world data may be used for current and future research by the Epi Forecasting team; assisting in the development & roll-out of knowledge management systems and documentation.
You will work closely with Barcelona-based Epidemiologists within the Epi Forecasting team, as well as the wider Global EpiRWS organization. As appropriate, the intern will accompany the program lead Epidemiologists in cross-functional meetings, where epidemiological strategy/data are discussed.
