Commis Chef - Luxury Castle Hotel Ireland

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Commis Chef to join our client at a prestigious luxury Irish castle hotel restaurant. As a Commis Chef, you will have the opportunity to work closely with their culinary team, learning and developing your skills in a stunning and historic setting. You will contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for guests, showcasing modern European cuisine that highlights the finest Irish ingredients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the senior chefs in various aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
- Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent and accurate preparation of dishes.
- Learn and practice proper culinary techniques, including knife skills, cooking methods, and seasoning.
- Ensure that ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in a timely manner, following the principles of stock rotation and minimizing waste.
- Support the senior chefs in creating new recipes and menu items, incorporating guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and workstations, in adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations, including timely delivery of dishes during service.
- Stay updated on culinary trends, techniques, and innovations, seeking opportunities for professional growth and improvement.
- Assist with any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the senior chefs.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- A passion for food and a genuine interest in learning and developing culinary skills.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, taking direction from senior chefs and collaborating with fellow kitchen staff.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
