**Experienced EU Project Manager - Scientific projects**

**(AI and Genomics)**
The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) offers a vacant position for an experienced EU project manager in the
Research Group on Rare Anemias Disorders in Barcelona, who will lead the delivery of several high impactful Research
projects, in particular GenoMed4All (Genomics and Personalized Medicine for all though Artificial Intelligence in
Haematological Diseases) and SYNTHEMA (Synthetic generation of hematological data over federated computing
frameworks), both projects funded by the European Union in the frame of the Horizon Europe Programme.

This position requires a deep understanding of scientific projects, combined with European Union Project management
skills and experience.

GenoMed4All supports the pooling of genomic, clinical data and other “-omics” health data through a secure and privacy
respectful data sharing platform based on the novel Federated Learning scheme, to advance research in personalised
medicine in haematological diseases thanks to advanced novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) models and standardized sharing

Building upon the results of this project, SYNTHEMA aims to establish a privacy-preserving, cross-border hub to develop
and validate innovative AI models for clinical data anonymisation and synthetic data generation in rare hematological

University degree in area of science (i.e. Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Statistics/Informatics in Health

Sciences, AI and Health)
- Master / PhD (or 5 years of proven expertise in the area)
- Fluent (spoken and written) English

Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of EU projects (Horizon Europe Programme, H2020
programme): coordination of teams, deep understanding of the projects dynamics, project planning, risk
management,...
- Experience with projects in the field of Artificial Intelligence / Personalized medicine
- Ability to write deliverables
- An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, capable to handle conflicts between different teams
- Attention to detail
- An easy-going person with human qualities, able to take responsibility and lead an area

responsible for their delivery from A to Z.
