**Job Description**:
AECOM’s energy division, as part of the **MEP department**, is formed by engineers specialized in the field of centralized and decentralised energy, including District Heating, District Cooling, Renewables, and energy storage.

This team specializes in **low carbon** sustainable energy network design, from initial opportunity identification, feasibility and business case development.

Currently we are looking to grow our team hiring a **Senior Engineer** with a particular focus on technical leadership and delivery. We are looking for someone with an excellent grasp of the European energy market, and **how buildings, estates, towns and cities can be decarbonized**.

The **Energy Design Specialist** will have the following responsibilities:

- Leading energy engineering projects including district energy, energy efficiency and renewable technology feasibility and design projects
- Working with the design teams to integrate strategies focused on net zero carbon.
- Assessing the environmental performance of buildings and masterplans through energy modelling, thermal comfort assessments and other relevant studies to provide design feedback and assess the compliance with different rating systems requirements (i.e. LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc).
- Producing rigorous, data driven reports to explain and justify analysis results and recommendations, as well as project deliverables as required.
- Communicating complex technical concepts and solutions to clients and design teams in a clear straightforward way.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary manner, engaging with different disciplines in-house and externally.
- Managing own workload to meet project deadlines.
- Conducting research and training into existing and emerging sustainable policy, trends and technologies.
- Engaging with the wider industry and professional bodies.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (mechanical, energy, electrical mainly)

At least, 4 or more years of relevant experience in energy services or related industry.

**Fluent English and Spanish**, both oral and written.

**Experience must include one or more** of the following:

- Conducting energy audits and site investigations.
- Renewable energy assessment, design, or development.
- Energy conservation projects associated with lighting, HVAC Systems, energy management and control systems and/or performing energy calculations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in engineering, Energy or related field is desired
- Previous experience working for high performing energy consulting teams and organizations.
- Related licenses or credentials including;
- Modeling/Coding Experience: Energy modeling software experience (IES VE, eQUEST, Energy Plus, DesignBuilder, HULC, etc.) desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and share knowledge.
