The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

**About the EGA**

**Whom would we like to hire?**

**Professional experience**

**Must Have**
- You have a strong background in Bioinformatics applied to human data
- You have experience with large-scale data analysis (e.g. genome-wide association studies or population genomics) using genetic and phenotypic datasets (preferably hands-on experience working with large datasets such as UK Biobank)
- You have experience in managing, processing, performing quality control and analysis of large amounts of Next Generation Sequencing
- You have experience in pipeline development using bioinformatic tools

**Desirable but not required/ Nice to have**
- You have knowledge of querying databases: SQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Neo4J, etc. Having database management experience is a major plus
- You have experience in Data Curation (genomics, experimental or clinical metadata), Quality checks, Data mining and harmonization
- You have experience in supervised & unsupervised machine-learning algorithms, Data analytics
- Understanding of the FAIR principles
- Experience in health data standards (OMOP, FHIR,)

**Education and training**
- You hold a Master’s in Bioinformatics (or similar discipline), or a strong equivalent working experience

**Languages**
- You are fluent in English
- Spanish and/or Catalan would be considered a plus

- You are accurate and detail-oriented
- You have effective written and oral communication skills
- You are a team player

**The Offer - Working Conditions**
- **Contract duration**: open-ended contract for scientific-technical activities linked to project duration
- **Estimated annual gross salary**: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales
- **Target start date**: March 1st or as soon as possible
