Bachelor's degree in Chemical Sciences, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, Marine Sciences or related degrees.
- Knowledge of chromatographic techniques such as GC/MS, GC/MS-MS and LC/MS will be a plus, as well as of analytical chemistry.
- Knowledge of English (writing and speaking) is desirable.
Moreover, it will involve the preparation of the sampling campaign, execution of sampling campaign, and analysis of samples in the laboratory facilities of the University of Valladolid.
The participation in scientific congresses will be promoted with the possibility of carrying out stays at a national and international level.
Place of work will be the University of Valladolid, in both Soria and Valladolid Campus. Possibly of teaching and doing teleworking for papers writing.

- **PROJECT TITLE**:Influence of global warming disturbances on Sources, Cycling and Fate of Legacy and Emerging pollutants in the Antarctica

**PROJECT DESCRIPTION**:The thesis proposed aims to understand i) the occurrence of legacy and emerging pollutants, with special focus on PCBs, OCPs, PFAS, OPES and microplastics, together with a screening of non-target pollutants in 5 selected Antarctic lakes, ii) the transport mechanisms and bioaccumulation processes, including interactions between water-sediments-aquatic food webs organisms in selected pristine Antarctic lakes of Antarctic Peninsula, how they are coupled with the carbon cycle and how climate change may affect their fate and bioavailability through the Antarctic food webs. The output of the project will help us to understand the impacts that changing pathways and climatic conditions will have on legacy and emerging pollutants, in the transfer within their food webs.
