The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is a great school in a wonderful location. We are an HMC school and were judged by a recent BSO (British Schools Overseas) Inspection to be outstanding in every area, including safeguarding, pupil welfare, pupil progress and outcomes.

BSB is a large, very popular school for children aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, and we offer a wide range of GCSEs, A levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, all alongside a significant enrichment programme.

Over 1900 pupils from more than 50 nationalities attend the school and over 300 staff work at BSB. We are based in three locations, two just outside the city of Barcelona - in Castelldefels, where we have a Primary, Secondary and Pre-University campus, and in the cosmopolitan town of Sitges, where we have another Primary campus. BSB City is in the heart of the city of Barcelona itself with a Foundation campus (built September 2021), and a brand-new Secondary campus which opened in September 2023.

The growth of the school has been accompanied by significant investment over recent years, including the building of a state-of-the art Pre-University Centre (Nexus), a full-sized 4G rugby and football pitch, dedicated STEM facilities and the new BSB City campuses.

The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Junior Financial Analyst - Controlling and Procurement Support **to join our fantastic team.

**About the role**

**Controlling Functions**:

- Collaborate with the Finance Controller to assist in the preparation, monitoring, and updating of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, and perform basic analysis of variations against the budget or forecast.
- Provide support in the development and maintenance of financial models and projections, gaining exposure to financial analysis and planning tools.
- Assist in the creation and updating of KPIs, helping track and report on key strategic indicators to improve business performance.
- Help develop and implement reporting tools for management, ensuring accuracy and clarity in financial reporting.
- Support the configuration and maintenance of ERP systems, contributing to ensuring the reliability of the analytical accounting system.
- Collaborate on ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making processes and contribute to various financial initiatives.

**Procurement functions**:

- Support the evaluation of suppliers, products, and services, ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and meet quality standards.
- Assist with consumables purchases for various departments, track deliveries, and help organize in-house distribution to maintain efficient operations.
- Help manage school resources efficiently, contributing to cost reduction initiatives and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s procurement policies and procedures, learning best practices and how to enforce purchasing guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in identifying purchasing needs, supporting the implementation of processes to ensure timely procurement.
- Maintain records and prepare data for supply chain analysis, providing insights to enhance procurement strategies.
- Support purchase order recording in the ERP, working closely with vendors to ensure services and purchases are invoiced accurately and promptly.

**About the contract**

We are offering a Permanent, full-time contract starting in December 2024.
