**The role**:

- Finance controller
- The Financial Controller is a key position responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations within the sales organisation. This role requires a deep understanding of sales finance, revenue recognition, and financial analysis specific to the business. The Financial Controller plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing sales performance, and supporting strategic decision-making.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Financial Planning and Analysis:
1. Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to develop and manage the annual budget, incorporating sales targets, pricing strategies, and revenue projections.

2. Conduct financial analysis, including sales forecasting, pricing analysis, and customer profitability assessments.

3. Provide insights and recommendations on sales performance, revenue growth opportunities, and cost management strategies.

4. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and operations, to drive financial integration and support decision-making.
- Revenue Recognition and Sales Finance:
1. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition principles, recognizing sales and revenue in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).

2. Monitor and analyse sales data, pricing structures, and discounting policies to ensure accurate and timely recording of sales transactions.

3. Collaborate with sales operations and legal teams to review and negotiate customer contracts from a financial perspective.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
1. Prepare timely and accurate financial statements specific to the commercial sales industry, including revenue analysis, sales margin reporting, and sales-related expenses.

2. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IAS, IFRS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., local filings).

3. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and maintain a robust system of internal controls.

4. Helping with day to day management of the site where required.

**Critical Competencies for Success**:

- Degree in business administration with a focus on finance/controlling or comparable
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the finance controlling, desirably within a matrix organization
- **Spain/Italy/UK-GAAP Knowledge will be needed**
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of complex ERP software, preferably JD Edwards (or e.g. SAP), as well as knowledge of a common reporting software (desirable Cognos)
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Good knowledge of English; **Italian and Spanish will be a plus**
- Independent and goal-oriented way of working, analytical thinking, communication and teamwork skills, flexibility
