- We are looking for a researcher to join our project aimed at developing better metal-ion batteries through the _operando_ understanding of the fundamental processes occurring during battery cycling, such as the change in the chemical state of the battery electrodes and the creation of SEI and CEI layers.
The researcher will be expected to take over the task of the rational optimization of the electrode material and ionic liquid-based electrolyte using the current understanding in the field and electrochemical characterization at laboratory level and be motivated to join the synchrotron experiments aimed at understanding their improved performance. Previous experience on spectroscopic techniques such as XPS and XAS is not needed but a desire to acquire more experience in this field is fundamental.
**Responsibilities**
- Synthesis and characterization of vanadium based cathode materials.
- Electrochemical characterization of metal-ion batteries.
- To participate in synchrotron experiments at particle accelerator facilities around the globe.
- Dissemination of results in international conferences and scientific publications.
**Requirements**:
- Research experience in metal-ion batteries.
**Also desired**
- Experience working with post-lithium-ion batteries.
- Experience in the synthesis and characterization of metal oxide electrode materials.
- Experience in advanced electrochemical characterization techniques such as EIS.
- Experience working with ionic liquids.
- Experience in spectroscopic characterization techniques such as XPS, XAS and XRD.
