We are seeking to incorporate a **R&D** **Researcher** to join our growing team. IRIS is an advanced engineering company that specializes in process monitoring and control solutions & novel technologies for process optimization. You will work as part of a team of scientists and engineers involved in different R&D projects related with fermentation, waste valorisation, sustainability and food technologies. We operate in a demanding high performance environment where you will be continually stimulated and you will grow a lot. Up for it?
Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:
- Experimental design and conceptualization of experiments
- Literature review
- Responsible for the experimental work within research projects mainly focus on waste valorization, food analysis, biomaterials and sustainability
- Data analysis
- Technical documentation elaboration (reports, presentations, deliverables, papers, etc.) and presentation
- Support to the laboratory maintenance (purchases, calibrations, etc.)
**Requirements**:
- A PhD in Biology, Biotechnology or similar
- An advanced level of English is a must
- Hands on experience in fermentation processes
- Expertise in microbiological analytical techniques
- Experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, DSC, microscopy, etc.
- Skilled in statistical software tools and DoE
- Trained in molecular biology (PCR, electrophoresis, blotting) would be a plus
- Hands on experience in sustainability assessment techniques, such as, LCA (Life cycle assessment) would be highly valuable
