Founded in 2018, Chiliz is a blockchain provider focused on the sports and entertainment industry. We build scalable, secure blockchain-enabled solutions that supercharge fan experiences using digital assets.
**THE ROLE**
**Responsibilities & Duties**:
- Communicate complex legal and technical blockchain concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts related to new partnerships, investments, collaborations for the Chiliz ecosystem.
- Assisting with regulatory compliance related to blockchain and the general applicability of such regulations to the business of the company.
- Assisting in day-to-day legal issues concerning the use of blockchain technology and providing ongoing support to various business stakeholders.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts, and other legal documentation and correspondence relating to the Company’s business.
- Work with the technology and product teams to support with regulatory analysis when assessing new products and features of the Company’s business.
- Taking on research work as required and keeping abreast with legislative amendments and regulatory changes.
- Assist with developing and revising policies, procedures, and practices to ensure full legal compliance in various jurisdictions.
- Liaising with external legal advisors, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
- Providing practical advice on all legal and technical aspects applicable to blockchain technology affecting the business.
- Staying up to date with developments from a regulatory, legal, and compliance perspective (covering blockchain technology, DeFi products and services and crypto asset service providers).
- Analyse complex legal and technical information during the planning, design and execution stages of any blockchain project whilst providing clear and concise advice to internal stakeholders
- Manage other ad hoc legal projects/duties as may be required from time to time.
- Develop and lead educational workshops and training sessions for company personnel on blockchain technology's legal aspects, emphasizing areas like smart contracts, tokenomics, and regulatory compliance.
- Simplify and communicate legal concepts and requirements in blockchain, training teams in legal intricacies using clear, non-technical language.
**Requirements**:
- A University degree in law - those possessing a blockchain law degree or qualifications would be given preference.
- A deep understanding of the technical aspects of blockchain technology, including its architecture and how it works.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations to blockchain, cryptocurrencies and crypto asset services and a good understanding of their applicability to different use cases related to tax laws, securities law and DeFi products.
- A real team player with a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to draft and review legal documents with mínimal supervision.
- Strong ability to organise and prioritise workload whilst meeting tight deadlines.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with an eye for detail.
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex legal and technical information.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, additional languages are a bonus.
- Prior hands-on experience with blockchain technology (including smart contracts) whilst demonstrating an ability to identify any potential legal implications will be considered favourably.
