NES Fircroft is helping a collaborative company in the renewables sector recruit a Head of PPAs in Southern Europe, and the role comes with a competitive salary of and excellent benefits.
- As a key member of the Origination Power team, you will collaborate with various departments, including development, finance, project finance, legal, and asset management, to create value for the portfolio through off-take agreements. You will utilise your extensive knowledge of local power markets to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including prospective off-takers (utilities, C&I, electro-intensive consumers), existing customers, renewable advisors, and sustainability organisations.
- In your first few weeks in this Head of PPA Origination role, you can expect to:
- Develop and drive commercial activities in key European markets, specifically Italy and Iberia, by scouting and originating long-term energy supply agreements with utility, commercial, and industrial customers
- Lead a small team and promote partnerships with traditional and non-traditional energy purchasers to expand business opportunities
- Evaluate opportunities and relationships from a tactical and financial standpoint to develop new contracting opportunities
- Support or manage all aspects of power origination, including prospecting, RFPs, bilateral, bid strategy, pricing, screening, and PPA negotiations
- Support market research, promote defined marketing campaigns, and articulate internal and external benchmarks related to renewable energy supply services and new business models.- Business development acumen with experience in negotiating transactions and closing deals
- Good understanding of the environmental and utility regulatory environment in the defined geographies
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to originate deals within acceptable terms, collaborate cross-functionally and lead teams
- Negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written), capable of establishing and managing client relationships and productive networking.
