Local Unit & Position Description:
DNV is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Engineer to join our Regional Solar Team and be part of an International Team of Solar Experts providing independent and owners engineering/advisory services to our Customers.
The position is a full-time position reporting to the Solar Team Leader for Southern Europe, located in one of our offices in Barcelona or Lyon.
**Responsibilities**:
- Direct Project Work. As part of the daily work, and after a proper training, it is expected that the Solar Engineer will be involved in technical advisory tasks related to independent and owners engineering services as (among others):
- Solar technology and design assessment;
- Energy assessment;
- Operational data analytics, and
- Site inspections and construction monitoring.
- Research and Development. Propose and be involved in internal R&D Projects related to the Solar Business.
Position Qualifications:
- Interest on renewable energies and solar in particular.
- Some Knowledge and/or experience on the following fields:
- System design, energy estimates, equipment selection, and performance monitoring;
- Construction Monitoring and/or Supervision for Solar PV Plants; and
- Project Acceptance Tests and Commissioning Procedures.
- Other fields of experience could be:
- Familiar with typical equipment for site inspections (drones, thermographic cameras, EL, I-V curve tracers);
- Familiarity with PVsyst as well as other energy simulation software;
- Solar PV related regulations, codes and standards;
- IEC and other relevant certifications in the industry.
Mandatory languages: English, and French.
- Strong analytical skills;
- Lead and support independent qualitative and quantitative analysis;
- Willingness to travel across the country and internationally;
- Ability to work independently, with an internal team, and with external partner organizations;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office;
- Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering;
- Master’s degree preferred; and
- Valid driving License.
Nice to have:
- Some professional experience in the solar sector (preferable in consultancy or engineering companies);
- Knowledge on Programming Languages as R, Python. Matlab and C++;
- Spanish language would be a plus.
