**Overview**:
**About The Role**
Join us in the SITA Lab, SITA's strategic technology research arm, where we explore new innovations that will transform travel through real-world trials involving emerging technologies. This position will lead projects related to our digital future exploration involving technologies like AI, Digital Trust Networks, IoT, Digital Twins, Mixed Reality, etc. SITA Lab innovates in collaboration with airlines, airports, SITA stakeholders and technology specialists globally.
As Solution Architect you will be responsible for ideating and designing demos, prototypes and MVPs in close interaction with our customers. You will build a strong customer network for early validation of ideas, and you will use your internal SITA network to support the evaluation of the technical and business feasibility of ideas. You will also research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential benefits for SITA and the Air Traffic Industry.

**What You Will Do**
- Investigate emerging technologies and startups to benefit the travel industry.
- Lead design thinking workshops to identify new opportunities with customers, suppliers, start-ups and experts.
- Design end-to-end blueprints co-innovating with customers and aligning with SITA capabilities.
- Oversee the architecture design of demos, prototypes and proofs-of-concepts, ensuring technical scope is documented and understood by all parties.
- Provide design leadership for developers and stay current with evolving technologies.
- Effectively communicate with customers, third parties, and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs, stay current with evolving technologies, and lead cross-functional teams in designing innovative solution blueprints
- Travel will be required for 25% - 50%

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer technologies.
- 7+ years of diverse IT experience including design and deployment of complex solutions.
- A minimum of 2 years in innovation, enterprise or solution architecture roles
- Proven consultative selling and a track record of influencing various stakeholders.
- Versatility in multiple technologies, delivery methods, and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, continuous delivery, LEAN), Architectural Design Patterns, design thinking, and Business Process Modeling (BPMN)
- Versed in mainstream programming languages, open-source technologies, cloud, and DevOps practices.
- Experience designing and building microservices-based messaging and event-driven systems and architectures.
- Accustomed to rapid project cycles that iteratively test hypotheses empirically.
- Strong communication acumen, comfortable presenting, facilitating group discussions, and collaborating across a social network to develop and evolve ideas and quantify their respective value.
Additional technical expertise considered an asset:
- Experience with REST and SOAP messaging patterns and libraries.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, cloud-native deployments (AWS, Azure)
- SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Elastic Search
- Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript/Typescript frameworks (e.g., Angular)
- Familiarity with Python and machine learning model training and deployment
