**Kopius Tech**, a tech consulting firm specializing in product development, is dedicated to fostering innovation and sustainable solutions within the IT industry. We are looking for a **Sr Data Engineer**to join our team The project is within the **Digital Agriculture** industry and is based in **San Francisco, CA.**The team develops a platform that examines weather, soil and field data to help farmers determine potential yield-limiting factors in their fields.

**Responsibilities**
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and workflows using BigQuery and GCP services.
- Develop and maintain efficient SQL queries to handle complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
- Optimize query performance through partitioning, materialized views, and other advanced techniques.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to analyze and visualize data using tools like Looker and Google Sheets.
- Manage data permissions and security using DCL and other GCP tools.
- Leverage BigQuery ML and AI/ML models to enable advanced data analytics and machine learning capabilities.
- Ensure data integrity and reliability through proper use of DML, TCL, and effective data management practices.

**Basic Qualifications**

**Requirements**:

- Proficiency in querying data using SQL, including working with nested and repeated fields and querying multiple tables.
- Strong experience with databases and database management.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially BigQuery.
- Experience in analyzing and visualizing data using tools such as Looker, Looker Studio, and Google Sheets.
- Expertise in optimizing query performance using partitioned tables, materialized views, and BI Engine.
- Hands-on experience with Data Manipulation Language (DML), Data Control Language (DCL), Transaction Control Language (TCL), as well as load and export statements.
- Knowledge of BigQuery ML for integrating with Vertex AI models and Cloud AI APIs for advanced machine learning tasks like text generation, NLP, and machine translation.
- Background in cloud computing and experience in data management and transformation processes.
