Job Title: Kayak Eco-tour Guide

**Kayak Tour Guide, €10+/hour**

**Minimum 4 days per week**

Barcelona Day Trip is now hiring **Part time and Full time** Kayak Tour Guides. This location is open 7 days a week and weekend availability is expected for all staff. **JOB SUMMARY**

Our day trips leave from Barcelona at 10am and return at 8pm

Your day will be 10 hours with 1 or 2, 3 hour kayak tours.

**PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION**:

- Meet and check in guests in Barcelona
- Introduce the day / tour and share transport to and from the coast.
- Give and explain use of equipment to guests
- Conduct kayak tour (s), instruction, according to specifications and training given, up to 2 tours per day.
- Keep guests informed and happy with your winning personality
- Keeping a positive attitude and enthusiasm for guiding and chat during the day
- Willingly help out with a variety of tasks as needed by supervisor
- Think on your feet, dealing with time keeping of tours, questions from guests and solving any small problems that arise during the day

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Lead and guide clients on an informative and fun tour
- Assisting customers in all aspects of the tour
- Ensuring safety and supervision of on the water activities
- Manage the registrations and paperwork of designated programming
- Other duties as required
- Working weekend and holiday hours required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must have basic Red Cross 1st-Aid certification or equivalent
- Must have Red Cross or Heartsaver CPR certification or equivalent
- Must have previous kayaking and/or guide experience
- Previous outdoor leadership experience a plus
- Complete guide training session (1 week training)
- Wear required attire
- Ability to work a minimum of 4 days per week for the duration of the season
- Must be in good physical condition, able to lift kayaks comfortably (40-80 lbs), and work outside during hot weather for long periods of time.
- Must be self-sufficient and able to work independently
- Must be a competent swimmer.
- Must enjoy talking with the public.
- Have a valid drivers license with good driving record. (Copy of driving record required) A plus but not essential
- Willingness to uphold and follow company policies.

**SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS**
- Customer Service skills
- Intermediate knowledge of boating, kayaking, SUP, etc.
- At least one year teaching experience with at least one type of boating discipline such as SUP, kayaking, canoeing, etc.
- Good level of spoken English

**REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS**
- Certifications for Kayak
- Driver’s License (a plus)
- Red Cross CPR, First Aid (or equivalent)

**PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS**

The work required is moderately physically demanding and requires a medium level of physical fitness.
