**Job Overview**:
Our client is seeking a skilled and passionate Aquatic Veterinarian to join our team and provide exceptional veterinary care for aquatic animals in various settings such as their marine parks and aquatic research facilities. The Aquatic Veterinarian will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, well-being, and conservation of aquatic species through medical diagnosis, treatment, surgical procedures, and preventive care.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct thorough medical examinations, diagnostics, and health assessments of aquatic animals, including fish, marine mammals, amphibians, and invertebrates.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for a wide range of aquatic species, using a variety of techniques and medications.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and monitor post-operative care for optimal recovery.
- Collaborate with animal care staff to provide expert advice on husbandry practices, nutrition, and environmental enrichment to promote the well-being of aquatic animals.
- Participate in the design and implementation of quarantine protocols to prevent the spread of diseases and parasites among aquatic populations.
- Oversee and manage disease surveillance programs, including routine health checks and pathology examinations, to maintain the health status of aquatic collections.
- Work closely with research teams to contribute veterinary expertise to aquatic research projects on conservation, reproduction, behavior, and physiology.
- Provide emergency medical care and response in critical situations, including water quality issues, animal injuries, and disease outbreaks.
- Develop and maintain accurate medical records for all treated animals, including diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.
- Stay current with advancements in aquatic veterinary medicine, attend relevant conferences, and actively engage in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to aquatic animal health and welfare.
- Contribute to public education and outreach efforts by sharing knowledge about aquatic animal health and conservation with visitors, students, and the community.

**Requirements**:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Specialization, advanced training, or board certification in aquatic medicine or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in providing veterinary care to aquatic species, including fish, marine mammals, amphibians, and invertebrates.
- Strong understanding of aquatic animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior.
- Proficiency in medical diagnostics, imaging techniques, and surgical procedures relevant to aquatic animals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, staff, and the public.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
