As our Junior Procurement Buyer you are jointly accountable for product related (Energy, Raw Material, Packaging) activities for European sites (main focus on Spain). You explore, develop and execute category strategies, engage with supplier base and internal cross-functional teams. You are accountable for costs savings ideation, documentation and long-term/pipeline savings project generation and delivering against individual, department and company annual targets/KPI’s. Proactively updating management on issues and opportunities within their scope of responsibility.
You will be based at our lactic acid and derivatives plant In Spain, Montmeló (Barcelona). This site produces products for all of our markets; Food, Biochemicals and Pharma. This site is labeled an Innovation Plant within Corbion, meaning that this is often the first location to produce new products and implement new technologies. You will be part of a knowledgeable, versatile and creative international team and report to the Senior Director Procurement Europe
**Responsibilities**
- Support in the development of sourcing strategies for the product related category whilst interacting with relevant Business Partners and stakeholders.
- Handle and support negotiations seeking the best Total Cost Ownership contracts and the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the assigned categories' impact of price volatility on business performance
- Develop category knowledge and work cross functionally across responsible spend areas
- Support Senior Category Managers with analytical support (e.g. Spend analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis etc.)
- Design and optimize the Purchasing procedures and assure that are in line with ISO and the company requirements
The Junior Buyer will be working closely with the Procurement Category Managers on this portfolio.
**About you**
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in economics, business, engineering or chemistry / chemical engineering
- Minimum 1 year experience in procurement with a focus on direct materials
- Preferred experience with ERP (SAP)
- Strong analytical skills, Excellent Excel skills
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Outstanding drive for results and continuous improvements
- Be externally focused
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects
- Ability to understand/communicate and to support in the execution of procurement strategies
- Ability to successfully participate on multiple projects simultaneously
- Energetic, highly motivated to learn.
