**RESPONSIBILITIES**
BASF is expanding the existing Engineering Hub focused in the field of battery materials.

As a Process Engineer, you will:

- Provide process engineering support for capital projects in the process design, simulations, process safety and environmental permitting.
- Support the development of lowest cost project scopes that meet schedule and functionality targets.
- Provide support in the design of the operating plant with the objective of achieving best in class variable cost.
- During the Project Scope Development, the Process Engineer is in charge of generating PFD’s, P&ID’s, Specification Sheets, etc as required by the project deliverables.
- Support Economic and technical evaluation of Alternatives
- Prepare all process information for safety reviews
- Participate in safety step reviews and appropriate Value Improvement Practices.
- Manages and supervises engineering contractors work as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering and 5 or more years of relevant experience in investment projects. Other disciplines with proven process design experience are also considered.
- Basic understanding of process equipment design including but not limited to pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, etc.
- Prior Experience in the Process Design and/or Operation of solids handling systems and associated equipment is considered a plus.
- Basic familiarity with engineering, purchasing, accounting and construction practices.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- Self-starter with high level of results orientation.
- Prior experience in the field of Battery Materials or Battery Recycling is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial action, the constant desire to drive innovation and out of the box thinking.
- Thorough understanding of engineering deliverables for large capital projects and multi-discipline projects.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- English languages are required. Spanish and German language skills are considered a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently: Projects Design Phases and/or Execution will take place in different locations in Spain and globally.
