**Hello We are Volotea, the airline of the small and mid-sized cities in Europe.**

In recent years, we have raised our travel capacity more than most competitors, increasing our number of aircraft, routes, destinations, employees, and markets. Our main markets are France, Italy, Spain, and Greece. We have 21 operational bases: Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Strasbourg, Lille, Lourdes, Lyon, and Brest in France; Venice, Verona, Palermo, Cagliari, Olbia, Florence, Bari, and Naples in Italy; Asturias and Bilbao in Spain; Athens in Greece; and Hamburg in Germany.

We are hiring a** Sustainability Director** who has experience in interacting with different cultural environments and can work in a challenging high-growth atmosphere.

The** Sustainability Director** will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sustainability strategies and programs that align with Volotea's corporate values and business objectives. This role will oversee all aspects of environmental sustainability, including carbon footprint reduction, resource efficiency, waste management, and sustainable sourcing. The Director will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of sustainability practices across the organization.

**What you will do**:

- **Strategic Leadership**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy that supports Volotea’s long-term goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction on sustainability initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into the company’s overall business strategy and regulatory requirements (current and future).
- **Program Management**:

- Oversee the implementation of sustainability programs, including carbon reduction, SAF implementation, energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable procurement.
- Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as SAF requirements, 2050 NetZero or tankering regulations, among others.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, marketing, and human resources, to promote and implement sustainable practices.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry groups, NGOs, and customers, to advocate for and advance sustainability initiatives.
- **Performance Metrics and Reporting**:

- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sustainability performance to EXCOM and external stakeholders.
- **Compliance and Risk Management**:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to environmental impact and sustainability.

**What you will need**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the aviation or transportation industry.
- Experience reporting and communicating on sustainability topics to executive committees.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability strategies and programs.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices in the aviation industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
