About the role

As Senior Data Scientist, you will interact with data scientists, data engineers and business experts to: gather requirements, transform them into projects, propose technologies and models, and develop production ready solutions in collaboration with the team.

- Conceptualize problems (technology and methods) and turn them into stages.
- Design solutions and develop models.

- Deploy projects into real production environments.

- Propose new ideas based on business opportunities. Help to grow the team with your technical and scientific knowledge.

**Skills**
- Languages (required): Python (OOP) and SQL.
- Languages (appreciated): Shell script (Unix-like OS)
- Advance python knowledge (required): Numpy, Pandas, Scipy, Scikit-learn, DL framework (preferably PyTorch or TensorFlow) and visualization (Matplotlib, Bokeh or Plotly)
- Advance python knowledge (appreciated): CPU and memory profiling, Multiprocessing, JobLib, Numba or JAX.
- Systems knowledge (required): Git, SQL, NoSQL and Hadoop + Spark (PySpark).
- Systems knowledge (appreciated): cloud service (preferably Azure) and distributed systems and data processing (ETL).
- Continuous learner.
- A technical & scientific reference for junior members of the team.
- Ability to patiently explain concepts clearly.
- Experience in Agile methodology and fast adaptation to changing requirements and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be creative and innovation-minded, self-motivated and proactive to work in a collaborative model, side by side with the business.
- Fluency in English to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Amongst our missions as Lidl’s International Hub, we would highlight the following: The conceptualisation and development of Lidl Plus, a Lidl international relational programme, and its benefit plan, which will offer discounts, exclusive services, agreements with third-party entities and financial services as its fundamental features; The creation of a cloud-based international platform for big data; The development of an international marketing automation platform; The conceptualisation, development and management of business intelligence platforms; The creation of an omnichannel payment platform; The development of advanced analytics and machine learning platforms favouring customer recommendation, foresight and analysis systems; The creation and implementation of an omnichannel, single sign-on strategy to generate business opportunities amongst the group’s diverse range of commercial platforms and services.
