ICFO is a research center located in the Mediterranean Technology Park in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, and currently hosts 400+ people, including researchers, PhD students and staff personnel. Today, in its area of specialization and category, the institute is consistently ranked among the highest-quality research institutions worldwide.

We are currently looking for an Electronics Engineer who will join the Electronics Advanced Engineering Lab, reporting directly to the head of this Unit and who will get support in areas related to electronics, including the design and fabrication of circuits and prototypes requested by researchers for a variety of projects, under the supervision of the Electronic Workshop Head.

The main responsibilities (although not exclusive) for this position are as follows:

- Design, simulate, manufacture and test of the necessary custom electronics and, if necessary, some mechanical parts.
- Execute the proper tests to debug and detect errors in the prototypes.
- Assembly of customized instruments.
- Creation of technical documentation.
- Besides, assume responsibilities associated with activities, tasks or projects with significant technical complexity. And if it is the case, acquire the management of the work of other personal, according to the directives established by the head of the Unit.

**REQUIREMENTS**

The appointee must have:

- A University degree in Electronics Engineering or related fields.
- A Minimum B2 English Level.
- Proven experience in the next design software tools:

- Design of electronic circuits using SIEMENS Xpedition, KiCAD and LTSpice.
- Design of mechanical parts with AutoCAD and FIKUS Visualcam software.
- Experience in analog circuits design:

- Signal Conditioning, Power Supplies, Temperature Controllers, Laser Drivers, etc.
- Proven professional experience working with microcontrollers.
- AVR (ATmega328) and ARM7 (Aduc7026).
- Proven professional experience working with programmable logic devices (FPGAs or CPLDs).
- VHDL is preferred.
- Intel MAX FPGAs with QUARTUS software.
- AMD: Coolrunner, Spartan 6, Spartan 7, Artix 7 and Zynq with VIVADO and ISE software.
- Experience with digital development platforms:

- ARDUINO, National Instruments MyRIO and RedPitaya.
- Communication Buses and Protocols
- RS232, SPI, I2C and JTAG.
- Instrumentation Programming SCPI.
- Knowledge in the Python, C and LabView programming languages will be valued.
- Proven experience in use of collaborative work environment using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint in a professional environment.
