The Pre-Construction Planner for Data Center Projects shall work with the respective Discipline Managers of the Project team, for developing a fully integrated schedule by obtaining inputs from the design development, environmental & stakeholder management, procurement & supply chain to suit Construction and Commissioning of the project, recognizing any specific operational or shutdown constraints. The planner's role will end on a particular project when the contractor commences on site.

Work location will be in the Madrid Offices with 1 or 2 monthly trips to meetings in Europe.
- Develops and prepares a fully integrated Project Schedule based on construction norms including basis of the schedule and assumptions document, Project schedule file in conjunction with the project team(s) (design, procurement & supply chain management, environmental & stakeholder management, construction, and commissioning).
- Ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules.
- Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with the performing offices to coordinate work sequences with the overall project plan.
- Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations for engineering, procurement and construction activities. Documents assumptions for basis of durations.
- Develops installation curves for key activities. Assists in determining leveling decisions and participates in quantity curves and person-hours review.
- Performs quantity and man-hour loading for project schedule if required.
- Responsible for schedule resource/ cost loading and levelling and provides resourcing and curves if required for team review.
- Determines critical-path and sub critical-path activities for the project and identifies significant activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements. Identifies critical path for discipline or specialty work activities. Highlights Critical items and milestones to Project, Design and Procurement teams as they approach.
- Monitors schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties including design deliverables and procurement packages and recommends corrective action/ workaround solutions for project considerations.
- Participates and schedules meetings with Engineering, Procurement and Contracts groups and provides schedule related information to the Project team.
- Participates in discussions with vendors and consultant teams during schedule negotiations or progress reviews. Conducts evaluation of bid schedules issued by contractors.
- Updates Project schedule at agreed intervals including incorporating subcontractor schedules; documents key changes and presents for team and Senior Management review.
- Provides input to prepare the Schedule Impact Report and conducts evaluations on schedule trends. Supports development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluations of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans.
- The Pre-Construction Planner shall be fully aware of the technical and commercial obligations of the contract and ensure that they are understood and implemented in his area of responsibility.
- Support in the early assessment of the required site establishment and laydown requirements by working in conjunction with the Logistics and Construction team and consider appropriate durations in the schedule recording the basis of assumptions.
- Work with Company SME(s) to include transportation logistics and crane studies for key lifts into the schedule.
- Assess the Project requirements for mobilization and de-mobilization of resources by working in conjunction with the Construction team and consider appropriate durations in the schedule recording the basis of assumptions.
- Producing visual aids to help explain the schedule of work, including bar charts, network diagrams and histograms.
- Responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of schedule and associated documents.
- Ensure Project Schedule is developed to provide a safe, efficient, and structured delivery of all construction activities.
- Support the Risk analysis team in estimating impacts to the project.
- Support the change management team in estimating impacts to the schedule.
- Recognized discipline background.
- Minimum of 5 years of Experience in Construction, Preconstruction scheduling or a similar role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Primavera P6.
- Experience of EPC contracts and Engineering, Fabrication, and construction.
- Experience in Data Center Construction would be desirable.
- Experience in the control of engineering and procurement phases is necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in planning within a construction environment including estimation of durations and understanding of construction discipline interdependencies.
- Good understanding of earned value & multiple WBS management.
