We are currently in a significant growth phase and are looking for a **Credit Risk Analyst** to join the Risk team in **Barcelona** (Spain).
**Job duties and Responsibilities**:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of payment methods and merchant risk.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential merchants.
- Monitor the credit portfolio regularly to identify early signs of financial deterioration or emerging risks.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate credit risks effectively.
- Analyze credit risk data and prepare comprehensive reports that summarize the credit risk profile, identify trends, and provide insights to facilitate management decision-making and strategy development.
- Actively seek opportunities to enhance credit risk assessment methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Utilize statistical and financial modeling techniques to predict credit risks, default rates, and potential losses.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Finance, Sales, and Account Management) to make informed credit decisions based on the risk assessment and available data.
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- BS / BA or higher degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a Related Field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payment industry, ACH or credit card processing.
- Experience analyzing large complex datasets and converting them into information which drives business decisions.
- Familiar with various credit risk assessment models, statistical techniques, and risk evaluation methodologies relevant to the payments industry.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a nice to have.
- Working hours from 09:00 - 10:00 to 18:00 - 19:00 from Monday to Friday (Reduced working hours on Fridays).
