Molecular Biologist

**Descripción**: The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. - Barcelona**What We Are Looking for**:

- ISGlobal is seeking a molecular biologist with experience in microbiological and virological analysis. The main objectives are the identification and characterization of human pathogens, especially but not limited to, arthropod borne viruses and other emerging viruses.**Field research**:

- Biological sciences
- Medical sciences

**Training and experience /Qualifications**:

- BSc and MSc in biology or life sciences.

**Specific Requirements**:

- Laboratory experience in: nucleic acid extraction of a variety of samples including tissue samples, real time RT-PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing and phylogenetic analysis, serological assays, multiplex PCR testing, culture and serological assays.
- User-level computer skills.
- Experience with softwares for sequence analysis
- Initiative and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The selected person will be responsible of setting up methods for microbiological and molecular virology analysis. She/He will design studies and experiments, process samples, analyse sequences and write reports and scientific communications.**Specific Duties**:
Organization and storage of biological samples, communication with other teams, nucleic acid extraction, molecular amplification, purification and sequencing, sequence analysis, phylogenetic analysis. Pathogen detection through culture and serological assays.

- Salary Range: Tec II C

**Selection Process**:
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
