Coating Scientist with passion for Project Management

We are looking for a passionate scientist with high curiosity and good project management skills that can help us to bring to bear our leading position in the industry, to push the boundaries of what is possible regarding fuel efficiency solutions for the marine industry.

Technical Project Manager with passion about sustainability

This is a key role where you will be responsible for the development of new coatings and products for the marine industry from lab to market. Working both in the lab, by planning, developing and testing different prototypes, and in the office, you will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders to bring the project to a successful end.

Some of the key tasks that you will have in this position include:

- Plan and complete projects to develop new coating prototypes that can solve our customers problems with focus on sustainability.
- Plan and conduct laboratory experiments with small coating prototypes based on well-known as well as new chemistries and analyse and interpret the results.
- Engage and align with other Hempel colleagues and customers to ensure efficient development of the new products.
- Estimate the costs, resources and time required to conduct research projects.

What we are looking for
- University degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar. Background on organic chemistry, polymers or coatings would be a strong advantage.
- Experience with silicone chemistry would appreciate.
- Strong passion about sustainability and innovation
- Hand-on approach and pro-active attitude

You will be working in a group of 9 passionate researchers in our Fuel Efficiency Solutions team in Polinyà as well as collaborating with other colleagues from all over the world.
