**About the role**

Reporting into the Head of Engineering, the Senior Project Engineer will have technical oversight during the entire project lifecycle, supporting Project and Corporate Development Managers, Transaction Managers and Project Managers by integrating site assessment studies, layout designs, manage bids/pricing for the project financing and construction process.

They will assist with managing technical third-party contract work for the project (Owner´s Engineers, Technical Advisors and Asset Managers, Consultants).

When the project achieves Financial Close and transitions into construction, the Senior Project Engineer continues with the project, assisting the Project Manager. Once the project gets into Operation, the Senior Project Engineer may provide support to the Asset Management team.

**Main responsibilities**
- Technical lead of projects at all stages of the project, from origination, to development, procurement and financing, construction and operation:

- Technical lead during development, performing feasibility studies, as well interacting with our development partners across multiple geographies, reviewing their deliverables (layouts, single line diagrams, energy yield assessment, interconnection agreements, environmental assessments ), providing guidance on the technical characteristics of solar and storage projects, in coordination with the CERO Project Development team. Technical lead during due diligence for acquisition or divestment of projects and financial close processes interacting with external technical advisors, sellers, or buyers.
- Technical lead in procurement phase in coordination with CERO Procurement Manager: definition of technical specifications for EPC and HV contractors and key suppliers. Technical evaluation of contractor’s proposals. Technical negotiation with suppliers and contractors: technical spec, deliverables, standards, schedule of design documents, performance guarantees, etc. Lead Front End Engineering Design (FEED) when required in projects ahead of Financial Close, including site studies (topographic report, geotechnical surveys, hydrological studies).
- Technical oversight during construction in coordination with CERO Project Manger during pre-construction and construction phases, supervising EPC contractor and suppliers’ documentation and detailed designs (drawings, specifications, standards, templates, processes), integrating lessons learned into Employer’s Requirements with Procurement team. Cover field engineering, supporting project manager and owners engineer on site with complex technical issues during construction, until operational phase.
- Technical support, ad-hoc, to Asset Management team during the operational phase of the projects.
- Managing external technical service providers with purchase orders and contracts including Technical advisors, Technical consultants, Owners Engineers
- Engage with project manager, legal, development, compliance, health and safety, procurement, grid connection and engineering colleagues to integrate these specialisms in projects
- Regular reporting on project technical progress, providing insightful risk and opportunity analysis to team and management;
- Supporting and mentoring other team members, including technical training to colleagues in other areas
- Perform site visits, controlling technical aspects but also quality control and health and safety assessments.

**What will you need to succeed in the role?**

**Essential Skills**
- To have more than 10 years of experience leading the technical aspect of renewable energy projects (solar and storage preferred) during the development, design, procurement, construction and operation in various markets (UK, Italy, Spain, France, Greece are a plus). From greenfield and site identification stage, through the environmental assessment processes to getting all project permits and authorisations.
- Have great interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully manage many stakeholders on a project including technical advisors, consultants, project managers, owner´s engineers, investors, EPC companies design & engineering offices, suppliers (inverter, tracker, modules, HV equipment).
- Interested in working on new opportunities in an innovative and dynamic environment.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural) you shall have at least 10 years of successful experience in project development of solar, or other renewable energy projects, with excellent knowledge of best practices in Solar and Storage as well applicable codes across European countries.
- English language is a must. Italian, Spanish, French, Greek a plus.
- Must have strong technical acumen and related negotiation skills during all phases of the project.
- Interaction with industry advisors, consultants, suppliers, contractors in the utility-scale renewables projects.
