Finance Manager
Role Summary
As the Financial Manager for Spain, you will be responsible for the statutory reporting as well as the financial and tax compliance for all Spanish entities. The role will be heavily involved in the annual audit and is responsible for preparation of the statutory financial statements and tax filings.
This role sits within the Spain Financial Controlling team and will be involved in the preparation of the monthly financial close process to meet Group reporting requirements, working closely with the Management Accounting team. You will also be responsible for ensuring integrity of the accounting ledgers.
Reporting lines:
You will report directly to the Europe Financial Controller.
Reporting lines and direct reports may change from time to time in line with the requirements of the role.
Your key responsibilities:
- Involvement in the audit process
- Preparation of the Spanish VAT, CIT filing and other tax compliance. Submissions and accounting for taxes
- National Statistics filings
- Monthly review of the submission of data to the Spanish authorities on invoicing (SII reporting) and reconciliation vs. return
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly management recharges within the Spanish entities
- Support the Finance Controller on ad hoc requests
- Build a good working relationship with the business partnering team
Will be a plus:
- Knowledge of preparation of the consolidated annual financial statements for the Spain group (IFRS) and individual subsidiaries (Spanish GAAP)
- Knowledge of Foundations regulatory laws. Support on Foundation accounts.
Your key working relationships:
As the Finance Manager, you need to develop strong relationships with the following internal parties:
- Spain Finance Director
- Spain Finance Team
- Europe Tax Manager
In addition, you need to develop strong external relationships with various individuals/agencies/key stakeholders e.g. external auditors, assessors, tax advisors
**Experience**:
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA, practice experience
- 5+ years minimum post qualification working in a reporting role
- Corporate or Group reporting experience
- Spanish GAAP experience
- Working knowledge of IFRS - nice to have
- SAP experience - nice to have
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering consistently accurate work
- Ability to organise/prioritise work in and around deadlines, workloads and conflicting priorities
Other requirements:
- Advanced level of English
- Positive and enthusiastic ‘can-do’ attitude
- Flexible and agile approach to work
- Willingness to travel to UK office occasionally
