What You’ll Do:
As a Legal Counsel, you will provide legal support to the renewable business in Spain in relation to the active management of the portfolio of owned assets (550MW in operation) as well as the development and growth of the platform. Reporting to the Head of Legal - Spain, you will work across a broad range of areas, including new developments and acquisitions, project financings, construction and operations matters, compliance and data protection matters, and corporate initiatives including the development of internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate and enforce all kinds of contracts/proceedings regarding the operation of renewable assets (i.e. NDA, land agreements, O&M, project finance agreements, administrative proceedings, etc.), corporate matters (i.e., services agreements) and new developments/acquisitions (i.e., TS, MOU, SPA, EPC, O&M, land agreements, shareholders agreements, administrative proceedings)
- Draft and manage all corporate documentation for Board and shareholders meetings (i.e., agenda, resolutions of all kinds, legal books, public deeds, Commercial Registry filings)
- Report any legal risk in relation to the operation, financing, management, claims, and contractual obligations.
- Provide specific and general analyses and summaries of legal questions for internal decision processes.
- Manage legal documentation and charts while supporting the implementation of a document management system.
- Collaborate with the Technical and Finance departments on the preparation of legal reports of the assets as well as legal obligations of the project finance agreements.
- Support the Development team with new acquisitions and hybridization initiatives.
- Support the Legal team at Northland Power Inc. with legal queries related to its Spanish affiliates.
- Work with external advisors to manage any legal claims and litigations.
- Manage the relationship with external legal advisors including engaging and instructing counsel, monitoring work, and reviewing invoices for legal services.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor´s Degree in Law. Masters in Corporate Law is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position (in-house or a top legal firm) with 3 years of experience in renewables and corporate matters.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (oral/written)
