**Position Overview**

We are currently looking for a caring, friendly and competent ECC/ES Physical Education Teacher to join our team in the ECC and Elementary. The PE Teacher at the ECC/elementary school (PK5-5) level is responsible for planning and implementing physical education activities, monitoring students, and evaluating student outcomes. Physical Education in the ECC and elementary school generally emphasizes development of gross motor skills, sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Planning and delivering physical education lessons: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards. Create engaging activities and games that promote the development of motor skills, coordination, teamwork, and physical fitness.
- Teaching fundamental movement skills: Instruct students on basic movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, kicking, and balancing. Provide demonstrations and guide students in practicing and refining these skills.
- Promoting physical fitness and healthy habits: Encourage students to participate in regular physical activity and educate them about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Teach concepts related to exercise, nutrition, hygiene, and safety.
- Assessing student progress: Evaluate and monitor students' performance and progress in physical education. Use various assessment methods such as observation, skills testing, and fitness assessments to track individual and group achievements. Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment: Ensure the physical education setting is safe and conducive to learning. Implement appropriate safety measures and rules for equipment use. Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that respects and values diversity among students.
- Collaborating with colleagues and parents: Work closely with other teachers, administrators, and parents to support students' overall development. Participate in team meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share progress updates and address concerns.
- Professional development and staying updated: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about current trends and best practices in physical education. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions related to physical education and child development.
- Classroom management: Establish and maintain discipline and behavior management strategies that promote a positive learning environment. Set clear expectations, enforce rules, and address any disruptive behavior effectively.
- Equipment and resource management: Ensure proper maintenance and organization of equipment and resources used for physical education. Keep an inventory of supplies and request new materials as needed.
- Record keeping and reporting: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress. Prepare reports and grades as required by the school or district.
- Organize and supervise games during lunch recess such as soccer, handball, etc.
- Plan and facilitate activities for school events such as Sports Day, Alternative Learning Day, etc.
