Commodity Procurement Manager- Mechatronics

**What's the role about?**

Implement commodity strategies and manage suppliers QCD Performance aligned with the Supplier Relationship Management to improve competitiveness of GKN Automotive. Special focus for this position is on eDrive systems, especially traction motors and Inverters. A knowlede in traction motors, active
- and passive component suppliers in the automotive sector is mandatory. Key activity is to build up a supplier panel (for traction motor components) in EU. Driving negotiations to support the ENG development of new technologies, and ultimately to win business for GKN. Identification and realization of cost improvements, aligned with business stakeholders, to achieve monthly budget and KPIs.

**What will you do?**
- Development and execution of the global Commodity Segment Procurement strategies for Mechatronic and Electronic product family - ensure strategic sourcing according to GKN Automotive STD
- Responsible to manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of supplier relationship including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance and conflict resolution
- PU responsible for (allocated) plants to deliver PU budget and KPI’s of the electronic / mechatronic segment
- Planning, coordination, execution and documentation of negotiation with global & regional suppliers. Create price volume matrix overview
- Actively lead or participate cost improvement initiatives (VAVE), to achieve the saving targets
- Contribute to market intelligence & best practices for the commodity
- Support ENG in the development of new products / concepts in Electronics and Mechatronics (focus traction motor)
- Manage and strengthen Supplier Relationship Management incl. Panel & Contract Management
- Ensure transparency and accuracy of data in the PU Information System
- Support CPD in achieving overall objectives, with dedicated analysis/reports (weekly/monthly) and in projects
- Work close and align with business stakeholders, i.e. BU, plants, SC, FS, Program and other functions

**What are we looking for?**

**Essential Qualifications & Experience**

Master / bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics &/or Electronics &/or (mechanical)engineering &/or commercial, with a strong knowledge of the electronic market. Fluent in English, with a structured and international mind set, combined with strong negotiation
- and communication skills.

Strong knowledge of the automotive sector, combined with a good network.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in Procurement teams, thereof
- min 5 years in international Procurement teams in a global industrial / automotive environment.
- min 5 years of experience in global electronic / electromechanical procurement environment
- min. 3 years of experience in collaboration with engineering teams to support new development projects and technical changes of running business.
- Knowledge of IATF16949
- Leader in problem solving and project approach
- Experience in negotiations in cross cultural environments
- Experienced with International matrix organization

- Results oriented with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and evidence in target achievement
- Available to travel (up to 30% of working time) on global level
- Complex Negotiation skills
- Procurement experience preferred as a Commodity Manager/Buyer
- Experienced at working in a global organization with multicultural team members
- Good written and verbal communications skills in English and a second language
