**About the role**:
Our EMEA Data Team requires a Team Leader in the Performance, Portfolio & Outreach Team. In this position you will manage Performance, Portfolio & Outreach Team within the European Data Center. You will work closely with Global Process Owners, Global Portfolio, Performance and Outreach teams, and Local Business Representatives to develop and strengthen our global database. Your team will be required to manage some Portfolio, Performance and Client based processes in EMEA, they will also research identified issues, ensure cycle time requirements are met, and communicate outcomes to all appropriate team members. Timely resolution requires coordinating resources across various data teams. The position is based in our Madrid office.

**Job responsibilities**:
1. Assist in managing and developing a team of 8+ Analysts by providing clear direction and support, establishing SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation for processes/projects.
2. Working closely with multiple global teams and across various functions. Participate regularly in global calls and meetings.
4. Understand priorities and organize team workload based on business requirement.
5. Collaborate frequently with the global teams, Local Business Representatives, Global Team Leaders and Regional Data Leaders. Share regular feedback and KPIs with global offices on process performance, priorities, and projects.
6. Provide the team with the requisite knowledge on Morningstar business, products and finance industry and create a learning culture in the team.
7. Support an organized, motivating and team-playing environment.
8. Guide team members to develop competencies and actively communicate with the team to support talent development.
9. Responsible for working together with the team on processes and projects inside the prescribed cycle times and track ongoing progress of them.
10. Identify process defects, defined as, for example, the amount of time required to complete a task, to help improve overall results.
11. Understand roles, responsibilities, and expertise of internal partners to commit with external and internal client expectations. Partners include all Morningstar employees whose expertise may be relevant to the progress of a particular task.
12. Conducts performance reviews of each team member and explains/sets career development paths and opportunities for team members.

**Qualifications**:
1. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
2. Understanding of the financial industry, curious and passionate about investment data.
3. Excellent writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
4. Self-motivated & able to guide and coach team members through training & mentoring.
5. People oriented person with capacity to operate in different directions and promote cooperation and collaboration.
6. Experience in process improvement and project management.
7. Proficiency in oral and written communication. Fluent in English is mandatory and one other European language is a plus.
8. Commitment to deliver honest, high quality and personal service to our clients.

**Nice to have**:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Morningstar’s internal database tools and data collection processes.
2. Expertise in Morningstar data, methodology, quality, and processes.
3. Previous experience leading a team
