**Postdoctoral researcher**
**Mucosal Immunology, Infectious Diseases**
VHIR offers a vacant position for a postdoctoral researcher within the HIV translational laboratory (Infectious
Disease Dept.) to join the group of Mucosal Immunology against Infection (MIM), under the supervision of Dr.
Meritxell Genescà.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**
PhD in the area of science/medicine, biotechnology, biomedicine, biology, biochemistry, veterinary or similar.
- Interest and expertise to work on the areas of human mucosal immunology and infectious disease.
- High motivation, independent and team work abilities.

**Preferred: -**
Expertise in myeloid tissue resident subsets (in particular gut or lung tissue).
- Experience in flow cytometry, tissue culture, data analyses, bioinformatics and statistics.

**Experience and knowledge: -**

Technical knowledge on laboratory procedures related to tissue processing, flow cytometry, statistics and
microscopy.
- Good level of English. Writing and presenting skills.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**
Daily management of an awarded project on human Mucosal Immunology, together with an associated PhD

student. Participation in other ongoing projects.
- Establish and maintain variations of tissue explant models.
- Tissue and cell culture, processing and flow cytometry analyses, including Spectral flow.
