**Role Title **Director - Senior Banker International Corporate Banking (ICB)

**What will you be doing**
To lead, manage and oversee the performance and risk of the ICB business regarding a portfolio of Large Corporates in Italy including:
- Supporting the profitable performance, growth and future strategy of ICB Iberia through leading the relationship of the clients in the portfolio. To be attained through working with the Head of ICB Southern Europe, Sector heads, other Coverage heads, and Product, Operations, Technology & Infrastructure where applicable but mainly within region
- To focus on the spectrum of needs for Corporate customers within the key sectors and supporting cross border investment into our transatlantic strategy
- Actively engagement on the ICB Spain ManFo, supporting the Head of ICB Southern Europe in the delivery of the strategy endorsed by the Corporate Bank ExCo in accordance with Barclays Purpose and Values and the accountabilities and responsibilities listed below
- Assume the role of Senior Relationship Executive to drive business and client relationship developments - working closely with Banking, the regional and sector heads to help develop and monetize Global Corporate Banking relationships globally with a focus on the top tier names, ensuring that a high degree of client contact is consistently maintained
- As a member of the ICB Spain ManFo, be accountable to the Head of ICB Southern Europe for supporting the delivery of the financial and operating performance of ICB, including profits, client satisfaction, conduct, controls and employee engagement.

**What we’re looking for**
The role holder will be accountable for:
- Financial accountability for delivering the profitable performance, growth and future strategy for ICB in Italy, through leading multiple clients across the relevant sectors in Iberia and working closely with Group partners in Corporate Bank, Investment Bank, Barclaycard, Private Bank and Barclays UK to ensure client strategy is defined and executed in a way which delivers maximum value for Barclays Group and our clients.
- Responsibility for escalating the pricing approval of Wholesale Lending deals which are sub hurdle, together with the authority to sign-off on sub-LCC/ECCC pricing deemed appropriate for Barclays to retain or attract a client which is expected to produce acceptable overall relationship returns.
- Assume the role of Senior Relationship Executive to drive business and client relationship developments - working closely with other Iberian heads and RDs to help develop and monetize CIB relationships globally with a focus on the top tier names, ensuring that a high degree of client contact is consistently maintained
- Provide visible leadership across ICB in Iberia and to drive high performance across the business.

Significant experience at senior coverage leadership level in financial services organisation or equivalent with experience on an international scale:
- Detailed knowledge of financial services industry (including history, trends and future development), particularly in Iberia;
- Ability to maintain and enhance the standing of Corporate Banking within financial and wider markets;
- Established and evidenced senior leadership credentials, including leading through change.
- Highly developed and effective communication skills and able to influence and negotiate with others in senior roles;
- An experienced negotiator who is required to negotiate with very sophisticated international clients;
- Significant analytical skills with the ability to analyse factual and qualitative information in complicated situations and across multiple sources;
- Comprehensive and broad understanding of the concepts and principles of ICB;
- Experienced leader who can motivate and direct experienced ICB professionals;
Additional key experiences and knowledge required:
- Track record and experience of business building and growth with a proven ability to manage complex and relentless change;
- A thought industry leader in the Corporate Banking sector;
- Knowledge of complex Corporate Banking product suite including Wholesale Lending, Trade and Working Capital, Cash and transactional products and FX. Further knowledge in DCM, ECM and RSG themes are desired.;
- Broad knowledge of risk management and control and accounting policies and financial control;
- International experience is a prerequisite.

- Shape, develop and execute a strategy to drive major change;
- Propose the business strategy to the Head of ICB Italy to deliver on the agreed strategy; and
- Drive towards a target operating model and respond to changes in the external environment.
